How Much Is Your Home Worth?
July 10, 2003
You've decided to sell your house. How much should you list it for? And how much will you eventually sell it for? Good Questions.
A good indication of how much your home is worth is the recent history of comparable homes that have sold in your neighborhood. Your real estate agent will usually develop a Competitive Market Analysis (CMA) at no cost to you. The CMA identifies not only homes that have sold, but also houses that are still on the market and those that have been recently taken off the market. This range gives a fair approximation of how much your house will sell for. But remember, a house is worth only what someone else is willing to pay.
