Considering A Condo Or Townhome
August 28, 2003
You’re nearing retirement, the kids are on their own, and you no longer need that big house and all the work that goes with it; perhaps you should consider a condo or town home.
Condos and town homes have differences, but are similar because you own your unit, as opposed to renting. Typically you share certain responsibilities for common areas with other unit owners through an association. You pay monthly dues for maintenance and upkeep of the common areas such as swimming pools, tennis courts, clubhouses, and play areas. Outside maintenance usually includes lawn care, snow removal, and sometimes painting and room repairs. You’ll have a lot less to do and more free time on your hands. Relax and enjoy!
